Each year at our Awards Luncheon, the Dallas Genealogical Society recognizes members, local organizations, and nationally-known genealogists for their contributions to the genealogical community and to the goals of our society.
This year’s Luncheon on December 12 is especially important because it marks our 60th anniversary as a leader in the genealogical community in north Texas.
This year’s Awards Committee members are Brenda Cannon, chair, and Mic Barnette, Linda Lane, Jean Larson, and Shirley Sloat.
The Committee is soliciting nominations by November 9 for the following Awards:
Volunteer of the Year – Presented to a member who has generously volunteered time, expertise, talents, and abilities to the Society during the previous year.
Award of Merit – Presented to a DGS member who has consistently contributed time, talent, expertise, and abilities to the Society over a period of years.
Heritage Preservation Award – Presented to an individual, group, or organization in recognition of contributions to preserve, conserve, house, or collect family history.
Lloyd DeWitt Bockstruck Distinguished Service Award – Presented to an individual for outstanding contributions to the genealogical community on a national level.
